About the Role

Our client, a leading developer in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and construction of solar and wind energy infrastructure projects in Upington, Northern Cape. This critical role involves managing all phases of project execution, from site assessment and permitting to construction and commissioning. You will work with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, contributing to South Africa's clean energy transition. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of renewable energy projects.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources effectively.
• Oversee site selection, environmental assessments, and permitting processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on project sites.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including landowners, community representatives, and government agencies.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement proactive solutions.
• Ensure quality control throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
• Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and investors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, construction methods, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and contract management.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams in remote or challenging environments.
• Experience with grid connection processes and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
