Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Memphis is seeking a motivated Project Manager to expand their Renewable Energy practice. This role includes leading a team, managing client relationships, and overseeing project development and engineering activities for wind projects. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in renewable energy projects, a P.E. license, and strong technical skills in software such as AutoCAD Civil3D. The position offers significant autonomy and a robust bonus program, with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing renewable energy or related projects.
  • Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, or GIS.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff.
  • Extensive client contacts with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and GIS.
  • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Project Manager to expand our Renewable Energy practice in Memphis, TN!

Responsibilities
  • The qualified individual will lead a Renewable Energy team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
  • Coordinate or direct development, energy assessment, engineering, or construction activities to ensure that wind project needs and objectives are met.
  • Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity and sound business principles, providing vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, having open communication with partners and team, and growing and leading a land development practice.
  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing renewable energy or related projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for wind energy projects
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners
  • Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and/or GIS
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably
