Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Survey Project Manager in Northwest Arkansas to lead and oversee a range of survey projects from scope through delivery. You will manage design and plan production, supervise field crews, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate results.

The role emphasizes strong communication, mentoring of technicians, and development of proposals, with opportunities to engage with ARDOT and other public works projects in the region.

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of demonstrated management experience in the Survey industry.
  • PS in Arkansas preferred or could become licensed in Arkansas within a year.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale land survey projects, including overseeing field crews and multiple survey technicians and other registered surveyors.
  • Boundary and Right of Way resolution.
  • Preparation of proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external clients for concise, clear deliverables.
  • Ability to mentor and develop Survey Technicians and field crews.
  • Experience with ARDOT, Public Works, Energy, Water & Wastewater, and/or Land Development projects is ideal.
  • Hands-on experience with municipalities in the Northwest Arkansas market.

Job description

What you will do:
  • This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing a wide variety of projects for the Survey practice.
  • This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities.
  • Manage design and plan production as well as manage clients and supervise technical staff through workshare opportunities with various practices and offices at Halff.
  • This position shall value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Survey Industry.
  • Develop a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
  • Develop and manage project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee project's financial health, report issues, and come up with solutions.
  • Provide support to business development efforts to guide and lead each phase of the process in preparation of proposals, while emphasizing quality outcomes.
  • Exceptional ability to lead by example in a professional, productive and established work environment.
  • Assist with the operational flow for a survey team to collaboratively prioritize projects of all sizes and levels of complexities.
  • Report on project progress and budgets.
  • Work with the Survey Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.
What you will need:
  • 1-2+ years of demonstrated management experience in the Survey industry.
  • PS in the state of Arkansas, preferred, or could become licensed in Arkansas within a year.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, land survey projects, including overseeing field crews and multiple survey technicians and other registered surveyors.
  • Boundary and Right of Way resolution.
  • Preparation of proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external clients for the purpose of being concise, clear, and conveying details for project deliverables in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to work autonomously, mentor and professionally develop Survey Technicians and field crew members.
  • Exceptional ability and practical experience to successfully manage projects, including developing scope of work, schedule and fee while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Technical understanding and proficiencies with Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with ARDOT, Public Works, Energy, Water & Wastewater, and/or Land Development projects, is ideal.
  • Hands-on experience with various municipalities in the Northwest Arkansas market.
