Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in fresh produce, agriculture, food manufacturing, CPG, or related industries.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, specification management, sustainability, or project management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with PLM systems.
  • Experience with Specright or similar specification management software preferred.
  • Experience managing customer product specification portals and retailer requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and data management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer product specifications and documentation.
  • Update product revisions in Specright and customer portals.
  • Manage retailer, customer, and foodservice product portals.
  • Track portal deadlines, specification updates, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain master product data within Specright and other specification management systems.
  • Validate product information to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production, FSQA, Sales, and other departments to obtain and maintain accurate product information.
  • Support sustainability data collection, tracking, and reporting activities.
  • Support product modifications and product launches by coordinating information across departments.
  • Maintain organized records of specifications, revisions, approvals, and portal submissions.
  • Assist with customer requests related to product information and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product data management and specification processes.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job description

The Project Manager (Product Development, Sustainability) is responsible for maintaining and managing customer product specifications, product data, and related documentation within internal systems and customer-facing portals. This role works closely with Production, Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA), Sales, and other departments to ensure product information is accurate, up to date, and compliant with customer requirements. The Project Manager maintains master product data within Specright and other specification management systems, manages retailer and foodservice portals, updates product revisions, and tracks customer deadlines and compliance requirements. This position also supports sustainability data collection and reporting efforts and assists with product modifications and launches as needed. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SKILL / QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Marketing, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in fresh produce, agriculture, food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, product commercialization, specification management, sustainability, or project management.
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Experience with Spec right or similar specification management software preferred.
  • Experience managing customer product specification portals and retailer requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and data management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive solutions.
  • Experience in fresh produce or agricultural operations strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business systems used for reporting, project tracking, and data management.
  • Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and field technology used for operational communication and reporting.
