Job description

The Project Manager – Plumbing is responsible for overseeing plumbing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining strong coordination with general contractors, field teams, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage plumbing projects from start to completion, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate daily with General Contractors, field supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Document control including RFIs, submittals, material ordering, and ensuring successful project management.
• BIM Coordination as per requirements of the project.
• Interact with clients, interpret their needs and requirements, and represent them in the field.
• Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, personnel performance, and reporting on the project’s status.
• Work with Field Foreman to develop short‑term resource needs (manpower, materials, and tools) with a focus on the Critical Path Management process and three‑week look‑ahead plans.
• Respond to unplanned conditions such as rainouts, schedule changes, customer satisfaction issues, key absenteeism, etc., and reassign field personnel as required.
• Coordinate with and make recommendations to Division Manager for assignments to new projects.
• Work directly with field supervisors to set and monitor performance targets/milestones.
• Ensure crew’s compliance with safety procedures.
• Establish and maintain relationships with GC superintendents. Address field‑level customer satisfaction issues.
• Inform the Project Manager or Division Manager (if the issue is severe) of customer satisfaction issues that cannot be resolved.
• Provide mentoring to Field Supervisors on customer satisfaction and communication tactics.
• Perform site visits and monitor if work is being performed to company standards / best practices; provide feedback to the field supervisor and prescribe rework if required.
• Inform the applicable Project Manager of any significant quality/rework issues.
• Coordinate with Division Manager to develop corrective actions/training to prevent repetitive quality issues.
• Provide on‑the‑job training (focus on Field Supervisors but include all field levels) covering trade practices and ICs standards / best practices.
• Assist in the development and documentation of company and division-level best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing plumbing projects in commercial or multifamily construction.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Good scheduling, planning, and organizational skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects and field teams.
• Familiarity with project budgeting and cost control.
• Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software.
