Job summary

Blue Shield of CA seeks a Principal Project Manager to lead end-to-end operational and technology initiatives within the Pharmacy Benefits, Claims, and Network Operations team. You will coordinate across vendors, IT and business stakeholders to deliver large-scale programs on time while ensuring regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or HS diploma with 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Requires 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Extensive experience leading complex cross-functional programs and projects involving operations, technology, vendors, and business stakeholders, with demonstrated success delivering large-scale initiatives from planning through implementation.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritize competing demands, identify risks and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies in fast-paced and highly regulated environments.
• Requires deep knowledge of project management disciplines, including project planning, governance, stakeholder management, change management, issue resolution, executive communications, and resource coordination.
• Experience working with external vendors and internal business and technology teams to drive accountability, facilitate decision-making, and ensure successful delivery of initiatives related to operational readiness, regulatory mandates, vendor assessments, and large-scale implementations.
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry, particularly pharmacy operations, pharmacy benefit management, claims processing, formulary administration, network operations, and regulatory requirements, is strongly preferred to effectively navigate complex business and operational challenges, though not required for the role.
