Project Manager (PE), Transportation, Austin, TX

Halff is seeking a licensed Texas PE to join our Transportation/Roadway team in Austin, TX. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in roadway design who enjoys leading projects, developing teams, and delivering high‑quality solutions for DOT and municipal clients.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and manage roadway/transportation design projects from planning through delivery.
  • Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers, EITs, and support staff.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet design standards, quality expectations, and client requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and support ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Review plans and deliverables for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Assist with proposal development, RFQs, and business development efforts.
  • Partner with Transportation leadership on project delivery and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Monitor project performance, including budget tracking and schedule adherence.
  • Support QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and Halff expectations.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.
  • 8+ years of experience in roadway project development (TXDOT and/or municipal projects preferred).
  • Strong experience in roadway design and plan production.
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience working with local agencies and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, and client service.
  • Primavera (P6) experience is a plus.
