Job description

Position Title

Project Manager - Operations (Location: Waterford, CT)

Schedule and Travel

Monday - Friday; up to 60% regional travel.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project management for complex installation of AirGas equipment.
  • Prepare and update P&ID drawings.
  • Determine project success metrics.
  • Establish, monitor, and report project plan milestones, budget figures, and compliance issues to leadership.
  • Order inventory and source vendors for cost control.
  • Monitor project staff scheduling and overtime levels to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare operations and project status reports, including cost tracking.
  • Maintain proper reconciliation of paperwork and electronic files related to all projects.
  • Maintain project request data and supporting documentation in a timely manner and within established quality metrics.
  • Escalate problems to the necessary leader or project owner.
  • Maintain 100% attendance at all safety meetings to reduce accident frequency ratios.
  • Support and participate in Health, Safety and Environmental programs and objectives established by the business entity.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Administrative/Science degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required with relevant experience.
  • Valid U.S. employment authorization; no visa sponsorship required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of project control/scheduling experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, project schematics and process flow charts.
  • Knowledge of bulk cryogenic installations.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google platform products.
  • Independent judgment on matters of significance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop systems to keep projects organized.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to use AutoCad and Intelex.
  • Ability to remain seated or stationary for extended periods; occasionally required to traverse office and/or manufacturing locations.
  • Ability to actively listen and exchange information.
  • Ability to use computer, telephone and operate a motor vehicle.
  • Observational and information assessment abilities.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to lift and move 10-30 pounds up to 10 feet.
  • Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and minimum liability insurance required.
  • Ability to navigate varied environments and accessibility conditions at Airgas and customer sites.
  • Ability to plan project completion 1-6 months in advance or prior to completion date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior industrial gas experience.
Salary

The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $97,000. Airgas considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills and market and business considerations when extending an offer.
