Job summary

Moody Nolan is seeking a licensed architect with extensive experience to join our New York office, leading design and project delivery from concept through construction. You will guide clients, coordinate with consultants, and uphold design excellence in a dynamic, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (required).
  • Master's Degree in Architecture or related field (preferred).
  • Licensed Architect with 10+ years of professional experience in Architecture.
  • Experience with the New York School Construction Authority.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage clients.
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
  • Proficient in REVIT with frequent use (required).
  • Experience in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client expectations, team communication, and oversight of consultant coordination.
  • Provide design and delivery process leadership to the full design team and the client team.
  • Lead and manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination with consultants.
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative solutions.
  • Manage and direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks.
  • Ensure documents reflect design intent and high technical quality.
  • Facilitate submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFIs.
  • Interface with permitting officials during permitting and construction phases.
  • Coordinate client billing and follow up with the client on collection.

What You'll Need:


  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture (required)

  • Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field (preferred)

  • Licensed Architect with 10+ years of professional experience in Architecture

  • Experience working with the New York School Construction Authority

  • Ability to lead teams and manage clients

  • Experience in new building construction and Construction Administration

  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques

  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation

  • Must be proficient in REVIT with the ability to utilize it frequently (required)

  • Experienced in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling software

  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

  • Excellent written + verbal communication and client relationship management skills


What You'll Do:


  • Lead and manage client expectations, team communication, and oversight of consultant coordination

  • Provide design and delivery process leadership to the full design team and the client team

  • Lead and manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)

  • Resolve complex technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative technical/constructable solutions

  • Manage and direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks

  • Be Responsible for oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality

  • Facilitate the process for submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI

  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project

  • Coordinate client billing and follow up with the client on collection


Salary Range: Starting salary $140,000 (The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience and education.)
