Job summary

Installed Building Products in Columbus, OH is seeking a highly organized Project Manager to lead initiatives from initiation to closure. You will plan, schedule, and control budgets, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and communicate progress to stakeholders and clients.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of project management experience, with strong leadership, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities. This hybrid role requires in‑office collaboration three days a week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with budgeting and cross-functional coordination.
  • Familiarity with PM software such as SharePoint and MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initiation to completion including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Define scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders and team members.
  • Maintain project documentation and track progress against milestones.
  • Develop detailed plans, timelines, budgets, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and monitor quality and risk.
  • Conduct post‑project reviews to capture lessons learned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and project team members.
  • Manage project documentation, including project scope, schedules, budgets, and meeting minutes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, work plans, and budgets, and track progress against milestones and objectives.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Prepare a budget based on scope of work and resource requirements. Track project costs in order to meet budget.
  • Coordinate and communicate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and clients, providing regular updates and reports on project status.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project timelines, budgets, or quality, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Monitor project performance and quality standards and implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure project success.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, motivating team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Conduct post‑project reviews and evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or equivalent project management‑related experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of project management or proven related experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively and creatively.
  • Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring that project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with the capacity to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to navigate changes and challenges in project scope, requirements, or constraints.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and project management software and tools, such as SharePoint and Microsoft Project, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
  • Understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
  • Ability to motivate diverse groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project objectives.
