The Project Manager will assist the Department of Human Services (DHS) in managing the agency's transition from the State Enterprise PeopleSoft system to the NexGen (Workday) application. The individual will coordinate with Workday ERP service providers and DHS business units to ensure successful project implementation. The position reports to the DHS Deputy Commissioner of Finance, DHS Deputy Commissioner of Human Resources, and the Office of Information Technology Project Management Officer.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist DHS CFO and HR Director in planning, coordinating, and aligning the agency’s ERP transition activities with the state’s schedule.
2. Develop collaboration among the agency’s Finance, HR, and Procurement experts.
3. Ensure timely communication of project activities to stakeholders.
4. Lead and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
5. Monitor project performance and report status and issues.
6. Ensure stakeholders take necessary actions to meet project goals.
7. Work with Workday PMO and quality assurance teams to uphold standards and quality objectives.
8. Ensure team members are trained and equipped for the transition.
9. Monitor milestones and critical dates to prevent schedule jeopardy.
10. Identify and resolve schedule issues, keeping management informed.
11. Conduct testing reviews with business leaders for acceptance.
12. Maintain relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and clients.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of direct experience with Workday (NextGen) rollouts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least 5 years of IT project/program management or leadership experience.
• 3+ years managing enterprise NextGen Workday implementations.
• PMP certification (must upload certification).
• Proficiency in MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, and Office Suite.
• Experience leading complex projects in the last 2 years.
• Experience working in state government (required).
