Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil work across central North Carolina. You will manage roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a backlog already in place and direct access to senior leadership.

The role requires 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil projects, documented NCDOT experience, and a proven ability to drive cost control, schedules and safety on self-performed work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the PM of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work.
• Documented NCDOT project experience as the PM; be ready to name the jobs.
• You have run projects from start to finish; not an APM/Engineer role.
• Contractor-side background only; design/inspection backgrounds not a fit.
• Strong cost control, schedules, change orders and subcontractor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin for every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost; report to leadership.
• Collaborate with estimating on bids and project handoff.
