Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data center construction projects nationwide. You will own project performance, customer satisfaction, and take projects from design to completion.

The role offers a strong bonus program, ESOP, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and a path for growth. Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and client collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of construction management and/or estimating experience; design/build experience preferred.
  • Previous experience leading data center or advanced manufacturing projects preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Work closely with clients and design team to develop preliminary concepts and budgets.
  • Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, reduce costs, provide VE ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout for all trades and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to procure material or equipment directly when advantageous to budget or schedule.
  • Collaborate with Project Superintendent to develop/review subcontractor scopes, schedules, and site logistics.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors, and vendors to solve constructability issues.
  • Lead on-site weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings to review progress and address challenges.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.
  • Find ways to make the construction process enjoyable for clients and teams without compromising quality or safety.

Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 and $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.

Pay Range: $84,000 - $160,000 USD

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
  • Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.

Requirements
  • BS in Engineering, construction management, or related field required.
  • 2-5 years of construction management and/or estimating experience required, previous design/build project experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading data center or advanced manufacturing projects strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
