Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead data center and critical facilities projects nationwide. You will own project budgets, schedules, and client communications from design through completion.

The role requires coordinating with design teams, managing subcontractors, and driving value engineering while ensuring safety and quality across projects. A strong background in construction management is essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or related field.
  • 3–10 years of construction management or engineering design experience.
  • Previous experience leading data center or advanced manufacturing projects strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all managerial and administrative aspects of project from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Work with clients and design team to develop budget and preliminary concepts.
  • Negotiate scope, contracts and fees during proposals with clients.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout for trades and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to procure materials/directly when advantageous to budget.
  • Coordinate with Project Superintendent on subcontractor scopes, schedule and site logistics.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subs and vendors.
  • Lead weekly OAC meetings on-site during construction.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare pay applications and progress reports.

ARCO/Murray National Construction is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Mission Critical team in Chicago to focus on pricing and running data center construction projects nationwide. Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 and $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
  • Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.
