PCI is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Insulation for its Kansas City operations based in Kansas City, KS. You will manage full lifecycle projects, oversee budgets and subcontractor coordination, and drive safety and schedule adherence across multiple crews.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to read specifications and drawings, ensuring scope accuracy and on-time delivery. Local familiarity with Kansas City metro is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle of mechanical insulation projects from pre-construction to closeout.
• Manage project budgeting, forecasting, and P&L for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with clients, GC, field teams, and subcontractors to meet goals.
• Direct field operations, labor planning, productivity, and supervision.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with milestone tracking.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve jobsite issues to avoid delays.
• Ensure safety standards and client requirements are followed across projects.
• Oversee procurement of insulation materials and equipment.
• Review drawings and submittals for scope accuracy and installation.
• Lead change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Coordinate insulation installation with other trades and sequencing.
• Build relationships with clients and vendors to drive repeat business.
• Lead project meetings and report progress, risks, and finances.

PCI is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Insulation for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations based in Kansas City, KS. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical insulation projects (pre-construction through closeout), including planning, execution, and final delivery
• Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and overall profit & loss responsibility for assigned projects
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution and alignment with project goals
• Lead and direct field operations, including labor planning, productivity tracking, and performance management of crews and supervisors
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and proactively addressing delays or risks
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, resolving jobsite issues to avoid rework, delays, or cost impacts
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and client requirements, maintaining a strong safety culture across projects
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment specific to mechanical insulation systems (pipe, duct, vessel insulation, etc.)
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure scope accuracy and proper installation of insulation systems
• Oversee change orders, RFIs, and project documentation to maintain accurate project records and financial alignment
• Collaborate across multiple trades to coordinate insulation installation with mechanical systems, ensuring proper sequencing and system readiness
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to drive repeat business and project success
• Lead project meetings, communicate updates with stakeholders, and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and financial status
• Mentor and develop project engineers and field team members, supporting team growth and long-term success

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 3-5 years of professional experience on construction projects
• Must have e xperience in the mechanical insulation scope of construction subcontracts
• Strong ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work
• Has a strong record of establishing and maintaining successful vendor relationships
• Displays excellent verbal communication
• Possesses a high level of attention to detail
• Must have proficiency with digital construction takeoff and software
• Must be able to effectively collaborate within a team

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with working with union representatives.
• OSHA Certification.
• Local to the Kansas City metro area is preferred
