Job summary

Perkins&Will in Austin, TX seeks a Project Manager to lead complex interior design projects from concept through delivery. You will coordinate design teams, manage budget and schedule, and ensure alignment with firm standards and client goals.

Responsibilities include developing scope and fees, maintaining clear client communications, producing contract documents, and guiding project delivery using Deltek. Strong leadership, technical knowledge, and collaboration across disciplines are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interiors, architecture or related discipline is required.
• LEED GA certification within 6 months of hiring is expected.
• Professional accreditation in one of Living Design areas (LEED AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, etc.).
• Professional interiors licensure is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute all aspects of the design process and project complexities to contribute to the team's success.
• Fully manage all project aspects to ensure delivery within scope and budget.
• Lead project teams, foster collaboration, and ensure high performance and design excellence.
• Develop and validate project scope, fee, budget and services during marketing and contract development.
• Provide complete and timely communication of project information to clients and team.
• Manage projects using Deltek, including work plans, budgets, team and schedule, and change notices.

As a Project Manager on the Perkins&Will team, your skills and passion will come to life through the following responsibilities:

• Understanding and consistently executing all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design, execution, and living design.
• Full responsibility for managing all aspects of projects to ensure efficient execution within scope and budget.
• Managing project teams, fostering collaboration, demonstrating strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance, design ideas and successful project delivery.
• Participating in developing and validating project scope and fee, budget and scope of services during the marketing and contract development process.
• Providing complete and timely communication of project information to and from clients and project team.
• Responsible for managing project using the Deltek Project Management system; completes work plans in Deltek; including identification of project team members, budget, consultants, schedule for completion, fees and costs as well as project change notices or other actions taking place on the assigned project.
• Working with Interior Project Designer to avoid or eliminate conflicts in schedule due to the changes in various projects.
• Providing on-going communication through team meetings/minutes/up-date memos to project team.
• Understanding and responding to technical implications and design decisions.
• Preparing strategic plans for project success.
• Serving as primary client liaison to maintain client satisfaction.
• Participating in marketing opportunities and develops successful client relationships for continuing business.
• Considering risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability.
• Understanding design philosophies and current trends throughout the profession, including planning and strategies, design and space planning, documentation, furniture specifications, materials, and finishes.
• Reviewing work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
• Demonstrating strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas.
• Mentoring staff.
• Coordinating staffing resources with Operations Director.
• Coordinating effectively with clients, partners, and consultants, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues.
