Job summary

Perkins & Will in Dallas is seeking a Project Architect to lead design efforts, coordinate documentation, and ensure conformance with firm standards. You will navigate complex project realities, respond to technical implications, and mentor team members.

You will manage regulatory reviews, coordination with authorities, and construction contract administration while maintaining strong client communication and a focus on design excellence across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required.
• Architectural licensure required.
• LEED GA within 6 months of hire.
• Professional accreditation in Living Design: LEED AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, or ILFI Living Future.

Responsibilities

• Understand and contribute to the design process and project goals across disciplines.
• Coordinate project documentation and deliverables.
• Review deliverables for conformance with firm standards and design intent.
• Address quality control comments at each phase.
• Lead project coordination among internal disciplines and external consultants.
• Communicate with clients on technical matters.
• Administer regulatory reviews and coordination with authorities.
• Lead construction contract administration activities (submittals, RFIs, site observations, closeout).
• Maintain awareness of building technologies and engineering systems.
• Contribute to project marketing, proposals, and interviews.

As a Project Architect at Perkins&Will, you will:

• Understand all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, project management, execution and living design.
• Understand and respond to technical implications, design decisions and project financial goals.
• Coordinate project documentation development and the production of deliverable drawings and specifications.
• Review deliverables at each phase for conformance with firm standards, contractual obligations and project design intent, with a focus on quality, accuracy, legibility, completeness and constructability.
• Be responsible for addressing Quality Control review comments at each phase.
• Manage project Quality Assurance and adherence with Perkins&Will standards.
• Lead project coordination efforts among internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture) and with external consultants.
• Communicate with clients related to project technical matters.
• Administer project regulatory reviews (building code, accessibility, zoning) and coordination with, and submission to, authorities having jurisdiction.
• Lead construction contract administration responsibilities including: submittal review and response, RFI review and response, field observation and reporting and project closeout.
• Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and engineering systems relevant to project work.
• Contribute to project marketing pursuits, proposal preparation and interviews.
• Participate in design reviews, charettes and pin-ups.
• Demonstrate strong and effective communication, decision making and collaboration, which inspires high team performance.
