Job summary

Godshall Recruiting is seeking a Project Manager/Maintenance Engineer for our Blacksburg, SC manufacturing facility. You will lead strategic capital investments, facility improvements, and process optimization initiatives from planning through startup, influencing plant performance and supporting long-term growth.

The role collaborates with operations, maintenance, quality, procurement, and safety teams to deliver high-impact projects, develop business cases, monitor costs and schedules, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering and project leadership experience within a Chemicals manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing capital projects, equipment installations, or facility improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of industrial processes, plant systems, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience developing project budgets, schedules, and business cases.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of capital and operational improvement projects, ensuring successful execution from planning through startup
  • Build project plans, establish budgets, define timelines, and coordinate resources to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, procurement, and safety teams to deliver projects that support plant goals
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and engineering partners throughout design, construction, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, capacity, and overall operational performance
  • Provide engineering expertise to evaluate equipment upgrades, process changes, and facility improvements
  • Develop project justifications, capital requests, cost analyses, and financial evaluations for leadership review
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, and milestones while proactively addressing risks and challenges
  • Support process safety initiatives and ensure projects align with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and change management activities related to plant modifications
  • Drive initiatives focused on sustainability, waste reduction, energy conservation, and asset optimization
  • Serve as a technical mentor and resource for operations and engineering teams
  • Present project updates, recommendations, and results to site leadership and key stakeholders

To be a champion in this role, you will need:
