DataX Connect is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a long-term, site-based role on a major life sciences construction programme in New York. The role involves planning, coordination and delivery of key construction packages, with strong emphasis on coordinating MEP and CSA scopes, cleanroom environments and regulatory quality standards.

The successful candidate will lead project meetings, manage interfaces with subcontractors and design teams, and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery

Qualifications

• 8+ years of total construction experience.
• 2+ years operating as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Strong life sciences construction experience in pharma/biotech/medical device/drug manufacturing.
• 18+ months on a pharmaceutical construction project with cGMP exposure.
• Cleanroom construction experience is essential.
• Previous experience with a General Contractor is required.
• Solid understanding of MEP and CSA scopes.
• Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, quality and project delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work full-time on site.

We are supporting a major life sciences construction project and are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team on a long-term basis.

This is a fully site-based position and is suited to a construction professional with strong General Contractor experience who has previously delivered complex projects within pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or drug manufacturing environments.

The Role

The Project Manager will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of key construction packages across a major life sciences development.

You will work closely with project leadership, subcontractors, design teams and client stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the demanding quality standards associated with regulated life sciences facilities.

The role will involve oversight across both MEP and CSA scopes, with particular emphasis on coordinating technically complex cleanroom and cGMP construction environments.

• Ensure construction activities meet the standards expected within a cGMP-regulated environment.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should have:

• 8+ years of total construction experience.
• At least 2+ years operating as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Strong life sciences construction experience, ideally within pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or drug manufacturing projects.
• Ideally 18+ months spent on a pharmaceutical construction project, with a strong understanding of the cGMP project environment.
• Cleanroom construction experience is essential.
• Previous experience working for a General Contractor is required.
• Strong understanding of both MEP and CSA scopes.
• Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, quality and project delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work full-time on site.

Candidates whose experience is exclusively from a subcontractor or owner's representative background are unlikely to be the right fit unless they also have substantial General Contractor project delivery experience.

Working Pattern

This is a site-based role working approximately 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Remote and hybrid working arrangements are not available for this position.

Project

The successful candidate will be joining a major long-term life sciences construction programme expected to run for at least two years, offering strong project continuity and the opportunity to work on a technically demanding regulated facility.
