Job description

The Project Manager provides a wide range of project management and operational support, including assistance in the administration and coordination of various project management functions such as planning, budgeting, organizing, research, and service delivery.

The Information Technology Project Manager will oversee project management and implementation of healthcare-related systems, applications, and process development, following the policies and procedures set by the Project Management Office. This role involves managing projects within a healthcare environment, integrating both physician and facility aspects of the business. Supervision of other employees or contractors may be required.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Anticipating how technology enhancements will impact operational workflows.
  2. Understanding the business impact of solutions and assessing tradeoffs between needs, technology, and costs.
  3. Helping clients define requirements and determine resource needs.
  4. Analyzing cross-technology issues and evaluating solution feasibility.
  5. Participating in budget development and management.
  6. Assigning tasks, managing scope, and ensuring quality of deliverables.
  7. Maintaining communication with clients about project progress.
  8. Managing vendors involved in projects.
  9. Developing and tracking project success metrics.
  10. Communicating expectations and plans clearly to stakeholders.
  11. Adhering to PMO processes and practices.
  12. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred, not required).
  • At least 2 years of IT Project Management experience.
  • Ability to conduct complex analyses of organizational policies and practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with implementing Business and Practice Management systems or EMRs.
  • Experience with applications like Kronos, Lawson, McKesson, Cerner, IDX.
Required Licenses / Certifications:
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent, to be obtained within six months if not already held.

The annual salary range is $81,120 - $133,010. USC considers various factors when extending offers, including experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
