Job summary

Tyson Foods seeks a Project Manager to drive renovation and innovation projects that fuel growth and efficiency. The role requires cross-functional leadership to navigate roadblocks and deliver complex programs on time and within budget, with mentorship responsibilities and KPI reporting.

The position is full-time and onsite in Springdale, Arkansas, with travel as needed and a strong emphasis on implementing solid project management practices across business units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, food science, marketing, or related discipline.
  • PMI-certified project management experience is a plus.
  • 1–5 years' experience delivering large, complex projects in CPG or related industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead innovation projects from customer spec through commercialization and planning.
  • Apply project management processes and workflow controls to assigned projects.
  • Build project plans using MS Project with clear objectives, timing, and risks.
  • Coordinate resources and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Mentor other teams on best-in-class project management practices.
  • Track Time to Market KPIs and present updates to leadership.

Job Details

The Project Manager provides overall Project Management responsibility for assigned renovation and innovation projects that contribute to business growth and efficiencies. Leadership skills in working with a cross‑functional team through roadblocks and issues that would impede progress are required. Demonstrated ability to influence across business units and effectively coordinate external and internal resources is needed, along with a proven project management track record leading and delivering large, complex projects. The successful candidate will serve as mentor and an example for best‑in‑class project management. This role will sit full time onsite in Springdale, Arkansas.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Lead innovation projects from customer spec through commercialization, helping shape the long range and annual plans for assigned categories in support of corporate and business unit goals.

  • Exercise fundamental, sound project management techniques and workflow process when executing assigned projects.

  • Build project plans using MS Project and other tools available, able to clearly outline objectives, timing, and risks.

  • Communicate and align key resources at all levels of the organization on assigned projects.

  • Act as a best‑in‑class Project Management example for the organization and subject matter expert.

  • Act as a mentor to other parts of the organization who need project management help or information.

  • Prepare Time to Market KPI’s, track and present to leadership, and maintain tracking boards.

  • Report out key project management metrics to various functions and levels.


Requirements


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, food science, marketing, or other related discipline.

  • Formal certification in Project Management (from PMI or equivalent Project Management Association) a plus.

  • Experience 1-5 years’ experience as a project manager delivering large, complex technical projects in CPG or related industries.


Computer Skills


  • Advanced PC skills using Microsoft Office products and MS Project a plus, able to generate graphs, presentations, and charts.


Special Skills


  • Proven experience and a strong background successfully completing large and complex projects on‑time and within budget.

  • Experience in managing and driving change within a complex organization.
