Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Project Manager in the Dallas area with a strong background in electrical/industrial construction and full lifecycle ownership. You will oversee profitability, execution, client relationships, planning, budgeting, scheduling, labor management, and closeout to deliver safe, on-time, and on-budget projects.

Lead a team of 12–25 professionals, coordinate with estimating, purchasing, and field teams, manage P&L, forecasts, change orders, and ensure adherence

Qualifications

  • 4+ years as Project Manager in electrical/industrial construction (not data centers/health systems/retail/education)
  • Experience with budgets, schedules, labor, subcontractors, and client relationships
  • Proficient with Procore, Spectrum Viewpoint, Accubid, Bluebeam, Primavera P6
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage a team of 12–25

Responsibilities

  • Own P&L performance and execution of electrical construction projects.
  • Manage customer relationships, drive account growth, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Lead project planning, kickoff meetings, labor forecasting, scheduling, and safety program implementation.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasting, job costing, change orders, procurement, billing, and cash flow management.
  • Coordinate with estimating, purchasing, workforce development, field supervision, and support teams for successful execution.
  • Monitor progress through regular review meetings and provide proactive risk solutions.
  • Manage material procurement and delivery while maintaining budget targets.
  • Lead project closeout activities including punch lists, final billing, retainage, warranties, inspections, record documentation, and O&M manuals.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management for direct reports and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation for critical PM functions.

Job Description

A customer in the Dallas and Haskall Texas area is seeking an Industrial Project Manager with a strong background in electrical / industrial construction and full project lifecycle ownership. This individual will be responsible for managing profitability, execution, client relationships, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, labor management, and project closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own P&L performance and overall execution of assigned electrical construction projects.
  • Manage customer relationships, drive account growth, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Lead project planning efforts, including kickoff meetings, estimate reviews, labor forecasting, scheduling, and safety program implementation.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, job costing, change orders, procurement, contract administration, billing, and cash flow management.
  • Coordinate with estimating, purchasing, workforce development, field supervision, and support teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress through regular review meetings and provide proactive solutions to risks and challenges.
  • Manage material procurement and delivery while maintaining project budget targets.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including punch list completion, final billing, retainage collection, warranties, inspections, record documentation, and O&M manuals.

Skills and Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager within the electrical / Industrial construction industry (NOT commercial i.e. not data centers, health systems, retail, education)
  • Electrical experience: Distribution panels & switchgears, transformers, generators, thermal imaging - compliant with NFPA 70B, NFPA 497, API 520
  • Controls experience: Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLC Configurations, Emergency Shutdown (ESD)
  • Experience classifying hazardous areas
  • Experience Assigning P&ID's to each generator and control panel (Understanding the P&ID’s or know how to read these)
  • Technologies: Procore, Spectrum Viewpoint, Accubid, Bluebeam, Primavera P6
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, labor, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  • Experience with forecasting, job cost analysis, procurement, and change order management.
  • Effective communicator with strong leadership and team development skills - will be managing a team of 12 at a minimum and peak of 25 individuals
