Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems seeks a Project Manager III to lead Digital Platform Engineering initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering incremental cloud capabilities to improve user experience.

You will own planning, tracking, and governance for platform modernization, decommissioning, security, and risk programs, while partnering with engineering leaders, architects, product teams, risk, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years as a project or program manager with Agile experience (Scrum/SAFe).
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM/PMO support for internal digital initiatives and external requests.
• Coordinate a portfolio of Platform Engineering initiatives (modernization, decommissioning, security).
• Partner with engineering leaders, architects, product teams, risk, compliance, security, and stakeholders.
• Lead planning, tracking, and coordination for decommissioning initiatives.
• Represent Platform Engineering in governance forums and risk/compliance reviews.
• Facilitate prioritization across operational, strategic, and modernization efforts.
• Maintain visibility into commitments, risks, dependencies, and priorities.
• Drive meeting coordination, action items, and decisions.
• Develop executive updates, dashboards, and reporting materials.
• Coordinate intake and tracking of ad hoc requests affecting Platform Engineering.
• Monitor initiative health, milestones, and deliverables.
• Support annual planning, roadmap development, and capacity planning.

Project Manager III – Digital Platform Engineering

Location: Pensacola, FL, Winchester, VA, Vienna, VA, or San Diego, CA (Hybrid)

Role Overview

A candidate is sought to join the Digital Engineering organization. This role focuses on delivering incremental capabilities to the Cloud to improve user experience. The position involves providing centralized coordination, prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and execution oversight for an expanding scope of Platform Engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide project management support for various internal Digital initiatives and external requests.
• Coordinate and manage a portfolio of Platform Engineering team initiatives, including platform modernization, application decommissioning, operational improvements, risk remediation, and security initiatives.
• Partner with engineering leaders, architects, product teams, risk, compliance, security, and business stakeholders.
• Lead planning, tracking, and coordination activities for decommissioning initiatives.
• Represent Platform Engineering in enterprise governance forums, risk and security reviews, and compliance discussions.
• Facilitate prioritization discussions across operational, strategic, compliance, and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain visibility into team commitments, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
• Drive meeting coordination, action item management, and decision tracking.
• Develop executive-ready communications, status updates, dashboards, and reporting materials.
• Coordinate intake, assessment, and tracking of ad hoc requests impacting Platform Engineering.
• Monitor initiative health, project milestones, and key deliverables.
• Support annual planning, roadmap development, and capacity planning.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience: 3-5 years of prior experience as a project manager or program manager. Experience working in an Agile software development environment and with Scrum and/or SAFe frameworks.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Cloud technologies and services, preferably Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting platform engineering, infrastructure, cloud, digital, or software engineering organizations.
• Familiarity with application modernization and decommissioning programs.
• Experience working with risk, audit, cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory initiatives.
• Experience with the banking/financial services industry.
• Project Management or equivalent certification.
• Experience supporting large-scale IT, Enterprise, or Cloud-based initiatives.
