The Project Manager III is responsible for leading the successful delivery of highly complex, cross‑functional technology projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures all assigned projects meet defined business objectives, are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards, while aligning to established project management frameworks and governance practices.
The Project Manager III provides strategic oversight to multiple project teams, mentors PM I’s, and partners with stakeholders across business and technology functions to drive outcomes that advance organizational priorities and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leads large‑scale or high‑impact projects across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and adherence to PMO governance standards.
- Oversees the full project lifecycle, from business case development through implementation and transition to operational support.
- Defines, estimates, and documents project scope and resource requirements for complex initiatives; influences resource prioritization and allocation decisions.
- Facilitates executive‑level stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication of objectives, expectations, and progress.
- Develops detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; monitors and reports on project performance metrics, including cost, scope, and timeline variances.
- Manages business and technical risks by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential issues; develops and maintains comprehensive risk and issue logs with appropriate escalation.
- Provides thought leadership and best practice guidance on project management methods (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), tailoring approaches to project needs.
- Drives continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to project delivery processes, tools, and governance frameworks.
- Coaches and mentors Project Manager I team members to strengthen delivery capability and foster a high‑performing, collaborative culture.
- Builds strong partnerships with internal teams, vendors, and external clients to ensure alignment, accountability, and successful delivery outcomes.
- Facilitates post‑implementation reviews, capturing lessons learned and ensuring knowledge transfer across the PMO.
- Champions customer focus and operational excellence across all aspects of project delivery.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of enterprise‑level or highly complex initiatives.
- Proven experience managing both infrastructure and application development projects through full lifecycle delivery.
- Strong command of project and portfolio management tools (e.g., MS Project, DevOps, Visio, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated expertise with multiple delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, Hybrid).
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, manage competing priorities, and drive decision‑making across matrixed organizations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience managing program‑level dependencies and ensuring alignment across related projects.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring, developing, and leading project management talent.
- PMP, PMI‑ACP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
