Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks a Project Manager II for Transmission & Substation projects in Texas. You will lead planning, execution, and closeout of medium to large-scale projects, coordinating procurement, construction, and finance while ensuring scope, cost, and schedule adherence.

The role requires 3-5 years in utility/infrastructure project management, strong leadership, and proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, and Excel. PMP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of project management experience in utility, transmission, substation, energy, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects.
• PMP certification is a plus but not required.
• Proficient with Primavera P6, MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI and Excel.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing customer relationships.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of multiple transmission and substation projects with full scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety accountability.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and performance metrics.
• Direct cross-functional teams including procurement, construction, project controls, and finance to achieve objectives.
• Manage project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee contractor performance, subcontractor coordination, and vendor relations to meet contractual requirements.
• Review, negotiate, and approve change orders, claims, and contract modifications.
• Monitor financial performance including earned value, forecasting accuracy, cost controls, and variance analysis.
• Lead project status meetings and provide executive-level reports on progress, risks, and financial health.
• Serve as primary customer interface and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor Project Managers I, Project Coordinators, and other team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned into future execution strategies.
• Lead project closeout activities including turnover, contract reconciliation, final billing and post-project reviews.

Ancillary services include wireless telecommunication installation, environmental cleanup, project management, and storm restoration services.The Project Manager II is responsible for managing medium to large scale transmission and substation construction projects from initiation through closeout.
