QTS Realty Trust is a global leader in digital infrastructure seeking a Project Manager II – Infrastructure to plan, manage and deliver internal IT projects on time and within budget. You will coordinate Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, Data Center Technicians and other teams to ensure successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in technical project management, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 7+ years of IT, project management, service delivery or customer relationship management.
• PMI/Agile certification preferred and ITIL knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with data center environments and complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages and delivers internal IT projects on time and within budget.
• Facilitates communication between Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, Data Center Technicians and other teams.
• Develops and actively manages project plans with defined phases, tasks and due dates.
• Monitors status, issues, risks and escalations for upper management.
• Continuously improves internal processes and documentation.

The Project Manager II – Infrastructure effectively plans, manages, and delivers the internal IT projects on time and within budget. This entails facilitating communication between different team members (e.g. Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, Data Center Technicians, etc), different departments within the organization, along with ensuring adherence to existing company guidelines. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, experienced technical project manager, who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, and is able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrixed environment. RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned. Works with systems and network engineering teams to complete technical discovery Applies project management expertise to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services Collaborates with team managers and resources to identify project approach, deliverables, tasks and resources required to complete a project, specifically as it pertains to technical tasks and deliverables Develops and actively manage project plans, identifying applicable phases, tasks, resources, deliverables and due dates using traditional project management practices Reviews proposed changes to project plans, including meeting with stakeholders to approve and implement beneficial changes Manages multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven environment and completes projects on time Continuously monitors and reports on project status to Upper Management (including C-Levels), including issues, risks, and escalations Continually develops and improves internal processes and documentation within the organization. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management or other related field or equivalent professional experience Seven or more years of IT, Project Management, service delivery or customer relationship management experience Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Experience building detailed technical project plans and task dependencies based on technical familiarity and stakeholder interviews Experience managing complex, strategic programs with multiple sub-projects/workstreams Advanced knowledge of data center/critical environment concepts, such as space, power, cooling and connectivity Advanced knowledge of technologies found within data center architecture, such as routers, switches, firewalls, server components, storage, and virtualization. US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Five or more years of progressive project management experience or team lead experience in an IT infrastructure environment PMP or Agile certification ITIL Certification Experience with Salesforce CRM Experience with Project Management applications such as MS Project or Clarity Prior experience working in a Data Center environment Experience in project managing customer migrations KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with Senior Management Strong facilitation skills Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual with extensive experience multi-tasking across multiple concurrent and complex projects Strong communication, organization, and management skills Strong time management and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
