Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Project Manager II to support maintenance and construction initiatives in Austin. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors, ensuring project budgets and schedules align with scope.

The role involves preparing status reports, managing change orders, and guiding project documentation. Telework may be available; on-site work in Austin is common.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience performing project support functions in a project management office (PMO).
• Experience producing and distributing standardized project reports preferred.
• Experience with projects in healthcare, government, or non-profit sectors preferred.
• Certification as CAPM or PMP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses project documents to compile information for decision documents and reports to support leadership and contractors.
• Prepares monthly status reports showing expenditure and budget information for HHSC leadership and project teams.
• Drafts change orders or contract amendments for review and approval.
• Reviews project milestones/schedules and notifies teams of variances from plan.
• Maintains 24/7 on-call availability to provide technical guidance on building issues.
