Job summary

K&A Power Group is seeking a Project Manager II to join our team in Orange and Hartford, Connecticut. You will coordinate transmission and substation projects, report on progress, and implement project execution plans to deliver on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in project management, utility sector experience, and a PMP/CAPM certification is preferred. This onsite role reports daily to the office and offers growth within a dynamic energy-focused firm.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of project management experience.
• Utility experience required.
• PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of project management principles.
• Project-related work experience.
• Risk management, project leadership and proven collaborative teamwork.
• Ability to prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Onsite position; reports daily to the office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Project Manager and team; coordinate all aspects of transmission/substation projects.
• Coordinate and lead monthly project reporting; collect and compile data.
• Develop project approach and implement project execution plan.
• Monitor schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Support financials, staffing, risk management, change management, contract management, and resource tracking.
• Support project team to ensure client satisfaction and QA/QC compliance.
• Foster a ‘can do’ attitude and meet deadlines with quality.

• Assist the Lead Project Manager & team and coordinate all aspects of work related to transmission/substation projects
• Coordinate and lead monthly project reporting, collect and compile data
• Develop project approach and implement project execution plan
• Monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs
• Support financials, staffing, risk management, change management, contract management, tracking and resource management for all projects
• Support the project team to ensure deliverables are being provided to the client’s satisfaction and that projects are following internal and external QA/QC guidelines.
• Promote a culture of “can do attitude” and “say do” ratio with project deadline and quality across the team

What we’re looking for:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience in Project Management
• Utility experience required
• PMP or CAPM certification is preferred
• Working knowledge of project management principles
• Working Knowledge to Proficiency in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
• Project related work experience
• Risk Management, Project Leadership and Proven Collaborative Team Member
• Ability to prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations
• Onsite Position; reports daily to the office

Pay Range $78,000.00—$90,000/year
