Job summary

K&A Power Group in Syracuse, NY seeks an Associate Project Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of distribution, transmission, and substation projects. You will support onsite activities, ensure safety, and communicate progress daily with project teams.

The role emphasizes project reporting, cost control, and stakeholder coordination, with a focus on high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business-related field; 3+ years experience or Associates Degree with 4+ years experience.
• Preferred utility construction and project management experience.
• Requires expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, algorithms, and related functions).
• Must communicate clearly both orally and in writing; collaborative team player.
• Onsite Role (1/2X a week).

Responsibilities

• Assist PM in planning, coordinating, and executing distribution, transmission, and substation projects from initiation through closeout.
• Provide onsite support for construction and engineering activities, ensuring safety and adherence to requirements.
• Communicate daily with project teams on progress, safety, issues, schedules, change orders, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate and lead monthly project reporting, including data collection and analysis of performance.
• Develop project approaches and support execution plans for successful delivery.
• Monitor schedules, track milestones, manage scope, and support cost control.
• Support financial management, staffing, resource allocation, risk management, and contract administration.
• Ensure QA/QC standards are met and maintain high client satisfaction.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Project Manager to join our team at K&A Power Group in Syracuse, New York. Role Expectations

• Assist the Project Management team in planning, coordinating, and executing distribution, transmission, and substation projects from initiation through closeout.
• Provide onsite support for construction and engineering activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
• Communicate daily with project teams regarding construction progress, safety concerns, project issues, schedule updates, change orders, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Coordinate and lead monthly project reporting activities, including the collection, analysis, and compilation of project performance data.
• Develop project approaches and assist in implementing project execution plans to support successful project delivery.
• Monitor project schedules, track milestones, manage project scope, and support cost control efforts to ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule.
• Support project financial management, staffing coordination, resource allocation, risk management, contract administration, and change management activities.
• Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and comply with internal and external quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards.
• Promote a culture of “can do attitude” and “say do” ratio with project deadline and quality across the team.
• Apply superior organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities and support successful project outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Business-related field and minimum 3 years of experience or Associates Degree with 4 years of experience
• Preferred utility construction and project management experienced.
• Requires expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel utilization of pivot tables, v lookup, algorithms, and excel other functions).
• Must have the ability to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing
• Must have pleasant manners; able to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must have customer service oriented “can do” approach to work
• Must have superior organizational skills and accuracy
• Excellent problem solving and people skills also required
• Onsite Role (1/2X a week)

Pay Range: $90,000-$110,000/year
