Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Project Manager II in the United States to drive successful outcomes across SMB, National VIP, and Data Center projects. You will partner with Commercial, Program, Site Technical, and Engineering leads to set objectives and deliver execution plans.

  • 7+ years’ experience managing BMS, HVAC, Industrial Controls/Automation, Data Center, or similar projects.
  • Experience delivering projects to external customers through commercial agreements, including multi-site work.
  • Experience managing both structured projects and high-volume service engagements.

  • Resolve issues promptly and escalate as needed; manage risks and opportunities.

Job description

What will you do?

The Project Manager II is responsible for achieving the project’s objectives across a diverse portfolio of SMB, National VIP, and Data Center projects, including both structured deployments and service-based engagements.

They work closely with the Commercial Manager, Program Manager, Site Technical Manager, and Engineering Lead to define project objectives, create execution plans, and deliver successful outcomes aligned to customer requirements.

The Project Manager II has a working knowledge of the technical and organizational environments in which deliverables are created and operate effectively across both traditional project execution and higher-volume, fast-paced service delivery models. They may also assist in strategic planning for the department.

The Project Manager II must have strong communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels, be proactive, exhibit strong leadership qualities, and be adaptable in a dynamic, geographically dispersed, and customer-focused environment managing multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for meeting the scope, schedule, and budget commitments reflected in the Project Management Plan across a mix of SMB, National VIP, and Data Center projects
  • Serve as the primary project execution leader, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to achieve customer, financial, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Lead the Project Team in developing and managing the Project Management Plan within established constraints while adapting delivery approach based on project size, complexity, and customer needs
  • Implement and enforce change control over project scope, schedule, resources, and budget
  • Collaborate with resource managers and organizational leadership to secure appropriate resources across field, engineering, service, and construction teams
  • Manage resources by planning, scheduling, and forecasting manpower and resource requirements, including efficient coordination across multiple smaller and concurrent engagements
  • Manage subcontractors to deliver high-quality installations and services on schedule
  • Drive execution across both traditional project workflows and service-oriented work, ensuring consistent delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Manage the timely resolution of issues, including escalation of issues that are outside of the project team’s scope of responsibility
  • Continually identify and proactively manage project risks and opportunities; ensure corrective actions are executed through closure
  • Coordinate and direct project and service closeout to the customer, including verification of deliverables, documentation, and readiness for ongoing support
  • Prepare and deliver final project closure documentation and ensure timely financial reconciliation and final payment
  • Maintain ownership of project documentation, including change orders and issue logs
  • Monitor the project portfolio and report status to leadership on a regular basis
  • Review and approve all team project submittals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SMB and National VIP customers, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, business, or related field experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ work experience managing BMS, HVAC, Industrial Controls / Automation, Data Center, or similar projects
  • Minimum of four years’ work experience in managing BMS, HVAC, Industrial Controls / Automation, Data Center, or similar discipline projects
  • Experience delivering projects to external customers through commercial agreements, including multi-site or program-based work
  • Proven ability to manage both structured projects and higher-volume, service-based or work order-driven engagements
  • Microsoft Project (or similar); experience with Smartsheets a plus
  • Previous work experience in field services, controls engineering, or customer-facing project delivery environments
  • Previous e xperience supporting SMB customers or managing projects across geographically distributed or multi-site environments preferred
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure BAS solution desired
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to travel 30%

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
