Job summary

Schneider Electric in Sylvester, GA is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team specializing in Building Automation Systems. You will coordinate projects on site, ensure safety, perform commissioning, and troubleshoot software and hardware to keep installations on track.

You will work within our Digital Buildings organization based in Alpharetta, GA and partner with project managers, subcontractors, and customers to deliver successful handovers and optimized system performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience as a BAS Technician with related industry knowledge in BAS programming.
• Demonstrated communication skills interfacing directly with customers and other trades.
• Experience with HVAC and security installations.
• Proficiency in all types of building systems and application of our technology.
• Proven experience coordinating project team activities on site, including coordination with other trades, commissioning agents, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all design engineer activity is aligned with latest conformed construction documents prior to installation.
• Modifying and updating design drawings and maintaining red line documents.
• Collaborating with project manager and procurement personnel on purchasing activity and monitoring budget risks.
• Ensuring materials are being delivered to site or subcontractors for installation.
• Validating hardware and project installation meet design requirements.
• Diagnosing communication problems, troubleshooting, and tracking software and hardware issues.
• Participating in field quality control or safety audits and reviewing analysis and results.
• Coordinating with on-site contractors for the installation of equipment based on shop drawings.
• Acting as primary point of contact for subcontractors during installation phase.
• Coordinating and addressing issues during installation phase independently.
• Collaborating with the Project Manager to coordinate projects through the installation phase and providing feedback for manpower requirements.
• Contributing to a complete operation to service turnover process.
• Responsibility for overall system functionality/performance.
• Setup of outside ISP connections and remote connectivity to customer sites.
• Re-commissioning devices, equipment, and software as required.
• Assist the PM in material procurement.
• Ensure installation tracking sheets are updated regularly.
• Prepare customer‑training manuals and provide customized training.

Schneider Electric is searching for a Project Engineer to join our team in Sylvester, GA specializing in Building Automation System (BAS) to make an impact within our organization.

This position will sit within our Digital Buildings organization based in Alphretta, GA. In this role you will be responsible for project coordination, safety, software checkout, commissioning, and software troubleshooting. Additionally, you will ensure that daily activities on site for projects are completed.

You will have the opportunity to develop and refine your technical and leadership skills as you gain and apply your knowledge with the goal of simultaneously advancing your personal brand and the Schneider Electric brand in the marketplace.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 – USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short‑term incentives. The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
