Join Olsson's Federal Engineering & Design Team as a Project Manager I, where you will help deliver infrastructure projects for federal clients. In this role, you will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams supporting the planning, design, and construction of mission-critical facilities for military installations, VA campuses, and other government agencies. These projects require technical accuracy, strong organization, and consistent collaboration.

As a Project Manager I, you will manage projects or support project managers on larger or multidisciplinary assignments. You will participate throughout the project life cycle by helping establish scope, schedule, budget, quality expectations, and project documentation while developing your project management capabilities.

You will work with internal technical teams, clients, and federal stakeholders to support compliance with UFC, DoD, VA, and other applicable federal standards. You will also assist with proposals, project controls, and process improvements that strengthen our federal design capabilities and support successful project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a PE license is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of project scope, schedule, budget, quality, documentation, and basic project financials.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and client service skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, follow established project management practices, and **escalate** risks or changes appropriately.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical professionals across disciplines and build productive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Manage defined-scope federal projects and support larger or multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Assist with defining and communicating project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and budgets in coordination with technical teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Track project progress, resource needs, costs, and financial performance; identify variances and communicate potential impacts to the project manager or appropriate leader.
  • Help organize project teams by aligning technical expertise, assignments, and schedules with project goals and federal requirements.
  • Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned project matters while maintaining clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Support compliance with UFC, DoD, VA, and other applicable federal standards, contract requirements, and established quality procedures.
  • Identify potential risks, scope changes, schedule concerns, and additional costs; document issues and assist with developing mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with contracts, change documentation, billing coordination, and other project administration under the guidance of more experienced project managers.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate routine project meetings; document decisions, action items, responsibilities and follow-up needs.
  • Maintain project records and assist with the preparation and delivery of project documentation, including design plans, specifications, correspondence, cost information, and performance records.
