Job summary

Schneider Electric in San Antonio, Texas, seeks a Building Automation Project Manager to lead complex control system projects from planning to closeout. You will coordinate resources, schedules, budgets, and subcontractors while ensuring contract compliance and high-quality documentation.

The role requires 3+ years in project management and 5+ years in controls, with data center and PLC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and forecast manpower and resources for projects
  • Coordinate projects per contract documents and approved estimates
  • Maintain all project documentation and logs (RFI, minutes, punch lists, submittals)
  • Prepare billing forecasts and schedules of values
  • Review estimates and change orders for accuracy and approve submittals
  • Manage project finances and subcontract bids
  • Organize and maintain all contract documents per policy
  • Prepare/update project schedule and cost estimates
  • Deliver final project documentation and secure payment
  • Communicate with customers throughout the project lifecycle

Building Automation Project Manager
What will you do?
  • Manages resources by planning, scheduling and forecasting manpower and resource requirements
  • Coordinates project in accordance with contract documents and approved sales estimate
  • Manages all document control for projects, including but not limited to RFI's, meeting minutes, punch lists, transmittal log, submittal log, change order log and issues log
  • Prepares project billing revenue forecasts and schedules of values
  • Review all estimates and change orders for accuracy and approve all team project submittals
  • Accountable for financial management on all assigned projects
  • Prepares installation subcontractor bidding documents and negotiates subcontracts
  • Obtain, organize, and maintain all project contract documents in accordance with Schneider Electric quality policy
  • Prepares and updates project schedule and cost estimates
  • Prepares and delivers final project documentation to the customer and collect payment
  • Responsible for all customer-facing communication
What qualifications will make you successful?
  • This position is typically held by an individual that has at least 3 years in a Project Management Role and 5+ years in the controls industry
  • Data Center and PLC experience strongly preferred
  • He or she must have related industry knowledge; strong customer service skills, strong understanding of contracting procedures and tactics relative to such areas as project correspondence, documentation, timely notice of claims, subcontract negotiation and subcontract administration
  • This individual should have an advanced understanding of HVAC control systems and have the ability to analyze control system drawings and schematics as well as knowledge of contract law, codes, standards and industry construction knowledge
  • He or she must exhibit strong leadership skills including team leading and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility
