Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking an entry‑level Project Manager I to support project delivery within its energy utilities organization. The role emphasizes planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk tracking, and stakeholder communications while learning corporate governance standards.

You will collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, and operations teams. A bachelor’s degree and 0–3 years of PM/engineering/operations experience are expected, along with a valid driver’s

  • 0–3 years of project management, engineering, construction, operations, or related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development and maintenance of project execution plans.
  • Coordinate project activities with engineering, construction, procurement, operations, and other functional teams.
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules and milestone tracking.
  • Assist with monitoring project budgets, commitments, and expenditures.
  • Collect and report project performance information and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in project team meetings and document actions, decisions, and follow-up items.
  • Support project risk identification, tracking, and mitigation activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting records, and governance requirements.
  • Assist with change management and project reporting processes.
  • Support project closeout activities and lessons learned documentation.
  • Learn and apply company project management standards and governance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience supporting capital projects.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Exposure to budgeting and forecasting processes.
