Job summary

CareFirst, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to plan, organize, and lead small to mid-scale projects, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and risk, and communicate progress to stakeholders, while driving end-to-end delivery and business readiness. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience; PMP and Agile knowledge are preferred.

PURPOSE

Plan, organize, and manage small to mid-scale projects for successful delivery of objectives, on time and within budget. Initiate, engage, and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver results. Identify and mitigate risk and elevate as needed. Track progress and drive documentation to support project needs. Ensure end-to-end leadership for implementations, integration, business readiness and communications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plans and designates project resources, prepares budgets, monitors progress, tracks schedules, mitigates risks.
• Provides end to end project management support in terms of reporting, project deliverable tracking and documentation for medium-size projects. Acts as a liaison across all areas to ensure effective and efficient goals, scope, progress, and completion of projects. Coordinates issues throughout CareFirst, and externally, when necessary, to promote accurately represented information.
• Evaluates implications of existing or proposed projects, programs, processes, and policies/regulations through the use of critical and creative thinking and recommends improvements.
• Provides direction and motivation to project teams in a matrixed environment. Drives outcomes by fostering a collaborative culture. Manages relationships with key stakeholders, including management and vendors. Leads the execution of the project.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no direct reports, however, may informally lead teams in a matrix environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 3 years experience in project related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to exercise good judgment.
• Project planning and life cycle development.
• Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

Salary Range: $69,624 - $138,281
