Job Description Details

• Construction schedule monitoring
• Project budget monitoring
• Field supervision of trained technicians and junior engineers
• Translate and implement project plans and special provisions
• Evaluate and document construction operations
• Generate materials testing frequency and manage the QA program
• Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes to achieve final project acceptance
• Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and backcheck work of others
• Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients, and other agencies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Wisconsin PE license
• WisDOT Construction Management experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection and construction project management
• Has or can obtain HTCP material testing certifications as required by the project assignment
• Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation construction engineering practices, standards, and documentation
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying (Preferred, not required)
• Have a solid understanding of DOT’s consulting expectations and needs (Preferred, not required)
• Experience in roadway design using Civil3D and MicroStation (Preferred, not required)
• National Corrosion Engineer (NACE) Certified Coatings Inspector a plus
