Job summary

WW Clyde and Co. in Colorado is seeking a Project Manager for a large, complex commercial heavy civil project.

You will provide administrative and technical direction, oversee planning and staffing through regional leaders, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. The role requires 5+ years of progressive construction PM experience across infrastructure sectors, strong scheduling, budgeting, and communication skills, and the ability to lead teams and coordinate with clients and design

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant, progressive construction project management experience on public, commercial, and/or residential infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management including documentation, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, dispute resolution, personnel management, and resource scheduling.
  • Ability to apply innovative management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices and their impact on project activities; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work towards deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values.
  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads and subordinate managers.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards within corporate policy.
  • Liaise with client and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction to ensure schedule and budget targets; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and participate in labor strategy discussions.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests and maintain client relations.
  • Supervise the work of Project Managers as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Must be able to work on project site on all working days.

Project Manager - Commercial Heavy Civil

Job Summary

Provide overall administrative and technical direction for one large, complex project. May direct several small and/or medium-sized projects through subordinate managers. Exercises ultimate authority on assigned project, with a specific focus on large earthwork and utility installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values.
  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads, subordinate project managers, construction managers, etc.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the Client.
  • Supervise the work of Project Managers (I and II) when assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
  • Must be able to work on project site all working days.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant, progressive construction project management experience on public, commercial, and/or residential infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management including documentation, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, dispute resolution, personnel management, and resource (personnel and equipment) scheduling
  • Individual must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Significant business skill required.
  • Basic knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work towards and reach deadlines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
