Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil work in the Cary/Raleigh market. You will run projects from preconstruction through closeout, including grading, drainage, and DOT roadway work, with a self-perform capability.

This role reports to senior leadership and involves direct coordination with NCDOT and subcontractors. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of PM experience on highway or utility projects, NCDOT familiarity, and a proven track record of managing

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Project Manager on heavy civil, highway or utility work.
• NCDOT project experience required.
• Track record running projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Contractor-side experience; not suitable for consultant/inspection backgrounds.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field-team management.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.
• Triangle area relocation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as the main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.
