Base pay range

$130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

We are seeking a Heavy Civil Project Manager to join our established team in La Crosse, WI.

A Bit About Us

The Heavy Civil Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of large civil construction projects including heavy highway, general excavation, water and sewer utilities, environmental focused projects and more. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships. The Project Manager will work closely with field teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects from start to finish.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring all project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide regular project updates to clients, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and enforce strict safety protocols and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality work and adherence to project specifications.
  • Resolve conflicts or issues that arise on-site, ensuring minimal impact on project progress.
  • Review and approve project designs, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects (infrastructure, transportation, water, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar projects with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Expertise in project management software, HCSS, Heavy Bid, MS Office Suite, and construction management tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
