Job summary

DeSilva Gates Construction is seeking a strategic Project Manager for our Fresno team to lead major civil infrastructure projects from concept to completion. You will drive strategy, solve complex challenges, and deliver plans in the field with ownership and collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in civil construction, an undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, strong reading of plans and specs, and proficiency with PlanGrid and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• 7-10 years of experience managing civil projects and site safety.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with Plan Grid and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute civil construction projects from concept to completion.
• Oversee CPM, 3 Week, and 9 Day schedules and cost reporting.
• Manage project teams and direct reports as assigned.
• Ensure Cal-OSHA compliance and safety program adherence.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Reporting to a Construction Manager, the responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Project Planning and Execution

• Understand our client’s needs and the scope of the project.
• Estimate resources needed to complete projects.
• Oversee CPM, 3 Week, and 9 Day schedules.
• Pre-costing activities of work.
• Manage the cost report, AR and AP aspect of assigned projects.

Team Management

• Manage one or more direct reports.

Safety Management

• Conduct site safety surveys to evaluate safety program implementation.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance to ensure Cal-OSHA compliance.
• Implement and enforce company and client safety policies.

Additional Responsibilities

• Other duties as directed by the Construction Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing civil engineering projects and jobsite safety.
• Able to read and understand Plans and Specifications.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Plan Grid and scheduling software. Ability to learn new programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with internal and external personnel of all levels. Capable of negotiating with clients.
• Required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
