SUMMARY


Create and manage the strategic approach(es) for the development, execution, and evaluation of global conferences and events in the East Asia & Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and West Asia & Africa Areas.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • In collaboration with Global Operations, identify, vet, and assign in-country partners to produce AMPP events in a manner that allows for development of content; collection of registration, exhibits, and sponsorships fees in local currency; pre-event logistics; on-site coordination; and post-event evaluation.

  • Collaborate with in-country partners to develop revenue sharing and/or royalty models; conference scopes, schedules, and goals to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content meeting industry needs. This includes serving as a liaison between in-country partners and AMPP marketing/branding staff to appropriately promote global events and maintain compliance with corporate branding and marketing objectives.

  • With in-country providers, participate in development of RFPs and vendor/partner selection criteria for vetting of desired contractors and partners to be used by the in-country partners.

  • Where applicable, negotiate and review vendor contracts that foster strategic relationships to deliver cost savings for the organization.

  • Collaborate with local chapters and other associations to build relationships that contribute to the development of new programs that meet an industry or regional need and generate positive marginal revenue.

  • Serve as liaison to local chapters and committees to articulate AMPP event planning processes, share relevant data, and advocate for outcomes that are in the best interest of the organization's goals.

  • Conduct post-event analysis and evaluations to determine improvement opportunities and continuation of efforts for specific topics and/or locations.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


No supervisory responsibilities required for this role.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work nights, weekends, and extended hours during events.



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS


Ability to travel 25% of the time. Avalid driver's license and passport are required.Site visits and on-site conference management when and where applicable.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in international conference/events management, exhibits, or tradeshow environments is required.



  • Preferred qualifications include:

    • CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) and/or CEM (Certified in Exhibition Management) designation preferred.

    • Experience with conference apps, paper management systems, registration platforms, and floorplan drawing software preferred.




Candidates with a combination of relevant experience and technical proficiency in these areas will be strongly considered.



LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, committees, customers, other staff members of the organization, and the general public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions and percentages pertaining to budgets, forecasts, and contractual agreements.



REASONING ABILITY


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.



OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES


Proven ability to build relationships and work in a matrix and team-oriented environment.

Ability to learn and use association specific software.
