Job summary

Resource Options, Inc. seeks an Environmental Project Manager / Technical Lead to drive high-quality remediation projects. You will oversee remedial work at CERCLA sites, manage client expectations, and supervise schedules, budgets, and submittals.

The role requires strong communication, engineering/geo expertise, and the ability to obtain certifications within two years. Travel is limited to the Boston area and New England. ROI offers a collaborative environment with diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental engineering/consulting/contracting.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 applications and project scheduling.
  • PE/PG/PMP or ability to obtain within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct remedial and O&M work at CERCLA sites with in- and ex-situ treatment.
  • Prepare progress reports, comments from clients, and final versions with changes.
  • Develop project schedules, evaluate delays, and track costs.
  • Review submittals from consultants/contractors and provide feedback.
  • Manage costs, bids, invoices, and ensure adherence to budgets and contracts.
  • Limited travel to sites, primarily Boston area, with occasional New England travel.

Responsibilities

As an Environmental Project Manager, your expertise will play a key role in the successful completion of projects, ensuring each component meets our clients high standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Directly manage ongoing remedial and operations and maintenance work at several different CERCLA sites with ongoing in- and ex-situ treatment systems, Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) programs, surface water monitoring, etc.
  • Selfless pursuit of client satisfaction, setting and meeting expectations, and tireless client advocacy
  • Manage implementation of project work, including performing quality control audits
  • Prepare progress reports and status memos as needed, including comments from clients, and ensuring final versions incorporate all required changes
  • Develop and track project schedules, evaluate alternatives to address delays
  • Review and comment on consultant’s and contractor’s technical submittals, providing proactive, constructive feedback and direction
  • Evaluate cost-effective and implementable remedial approaches and technologies
  • Manage and respond to changing conditions (site data, schedules, budgets, emerging contaminants, etc.
  • Develop request for proposal and bid sheets for upcoming investigation or construction efforts, evaluate and compare bids received
  • Track, report, and project costs incurred by contractors and consultants, assigning costs to task or line-item budgets
  • Review and make recommendations for payment of consultant and contractor(s)’ invoices, with focus on adherence to contractual requirements and approved budgets
  • Limited travel required, primarily day trips to sites in the Boston vicinity, with occasional travel within New England
Qualifications

We're seeking an experienced professional who brings both technical skill and due diligence to every project. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Intrinsically motivated, willing, and able to continue gaining expertise
  • B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental engineering / consulting / contracting
  • Proficient in Office 365 applications
  • M.S. Degree in Environmental, Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related field
  • Professional certifications (or ability / intent to obtain within two years of employment): PE, PG, PMP, etc.
  • Other – proficiency in MS Project, ArcView, CAD, and/ or WordPress
  • OSHA 40-hour "HAZWOPER" training certification (This position requires ongoing annual OSHA physicals and training).
  • Effective communications skills - in person, over the phone, and through virtual meetings
  • A valid United States driver’s license

Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000
