Job summary

First PREMIER Bank in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate banking projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring on-time and within-scope results while aligning with strategic goals. You will manage cross-functional teams, oversee resources and risks, and maintain stakeholder communication with executives through updates and reports.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of project management experience in banking or financial services are preferred;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing projects, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Basic understanding of banking industry and project management methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior management, stakeholders, and business units to define project scope and success criteria.
  • Develops and manages project plans, timelines, and resource allocations from initiation to post-implementation.
  • Coordinates tasks across departments and leads diverse project teams with clear ownership.
  • Assesses new project requests for feasibility, alignment, financial justification, and risks.
  • Tracks progress, manages risks and issues, and reports to executives and stakeholders.
  • Ensures adherence to banking regulations and internal policies, supporting audits.
  • Gathers requirements and validates expectations to meet business needs.

About the RoleResponsible for leading and coordinating banking projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic goals. Ensures seamless collaboration among cross-functional teams while managing resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior management, stakeholders, and business units to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develops and manages comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations from initiation to post-implementation, ensuring effective execution and delivery.
  • Coordinates tasks across departments and lead diverse project teams, assigning roles and responsibilities to ensure clear ownership and accountability.
  • Assess new project requests for feasibility, strategic alignment, financial justification, workflow implications, technology needs, and potential risks.
  • Tracks progress against plans, proactively manage risks and issues, and provide consistent updates to executive leadership and stakeholders through meetings, reports, and presentations.
  • Oversees project adherence to banking regulations, data governance standards, and internal policies, supporting audit and compliance efforts as needed.
  • Assists in gathering and validating business requirements, stakeholder expectations, dependencies, and test plans to ensure project outcomes meet business needs.
  • Evaluates project outcomes, gather feedback, and implement lessons learned to improve project methodologies, tools, and cross-departmental collaboration for future initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Clearly and effectively convey information, ideas, and expectations to various stakeholders through verbal and written formats.
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes tasks, ensuring all aspects are addressed.
  • Identifies issues, analyzes root causes, and implements effective solutions.
  • Guides, motivates, and influences others to achieve common goals while fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
  • Structures tasks, manages time efficiently, and stays driven to meet goals without constant supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing projects, preferably within the banking, or financial services sector is required.
  • Basic understanding of the banking industry and methodology is required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
