Job description

Beitzel Corporation is looking for a Project Manager to lead our field welding and mechanical services work at customer sites across the region. Our crews work in industries to include coal mines, aggregate and quarry operations, processing plants, and other industrial facilities. The work ranges from structural and equipment repairs and fabrication to conveyor work, installations, and shutdown support. You'll take each job from bid to closeout. You'll build complete, accurate estimates to win the work, then plan and lead the crews, equipment, and resources to get it done safely, on time, and on budget. Your customers count on keeping their operations running, and you'll be the person they trust to make that happen. As a 100% employee-owned company, we make sure the value you help build is value you share in.

The right person brings hands-on welding or mechanical experience and a solid understanding of how mines and heavy industrial sites operate. This role involves time on-site, so you should be comfortable in demanding field environments and flexible about extended hours and travel with overnight stays when projects call for it. If you're ready to lead field work that keeps critical operations moving and to grow with a company you'll own a piece of, we'd like to hear from you.

  • Coordinate the review, negotiation, and execution of contractual and legal documents with the company's legal and safety departments, Corporate Management, and the Customer
  • Organize, execute, and maintain project records and files within the company's servers and databases
  • Understand and oversee the scope of work and assist with managing projects within the scope of work limits
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to establish and manage project specific goals
  • Manage material and equipment suppliers to support assigned projects
  • Review and ensure accuracy of time and material tickets, receipts, daily field reports, and other paperwork from field personnel
  • Establish, update, and analyze project schedules as assigned
  • Establish project budgets, track costs, and analyze budgeted vs actual performance of assigned jobs
Working Conditions
  • Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
  • Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments
  • Perform work at a variety of heights
  • 5+ years' experience in an industrial trade setting or current project management
  • Strong knowledge of safety and construction regulations and practices
  • Possesses OSHA 30 preferred, or ability to obtain
  • Demonstrated strong leadership abilities
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to troubleshoot on-the-job issues effectively and efficiently
  • Must possess the knowledge, experience, and ability to make sound business decisions
  • Proficient in organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
