Beitzel Corporation is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to lead civil projects from the field, supervising crews and coordinating resources to keep work on schedule and within budget. The position requires extensive travel to project sites and may involve extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supervising civil excavation projects, mid to large scale work preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans and schedules with accuracy.
• Strong safety adherence and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise site tasks with Project Management and other groups.
• Monitor subcontractors for specs and schedules; prepare 3 Week Look-Ahead sheets.
• Assist in developing daily Plan of Day (POD) with PM.
• Identify field issues that could impact project progress and communicate them.
• Prepare T&M tickets, daily production reports, receipts and related paperwork.
• Plan manpower, equipment, and supplies; communicate needs to management.
• Coordinate maintenance, repairs and extra work with customer and management.

Position Overview

Beitzel Corporation is seeking an experienced and motivated Field Superintendent to join our Civil Services team. In this role, you’ll lead assigned civil projects from the field, providing hands-on leadership to ensure daily operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project plans and regulations. You’ll supervise crews, coordinate resources, and drive productivity to keep projects on schedule, on budget, and aligned with customer expectations. This skilled position is ideal for someone with strong construction knowledge and the ability to manage complex work across a wide range of industries, including construction, manufacturing, power plants, commercial facilities, aggregates, oil and gas, coal, and renewable energy projects such as solar and wind.

This role involves extensive travel to project sites, offering the opportunity to work on diverse jobs across multiple locations. The Field Superintendent must be familiar with Beitzel Corporation’s services, adaptable to changing project demands, and flexible with work schedules, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. What You'll Do

• Supervise and direct site-specific tasks in conjunction with Project Management and any other involved Groups as it relates to assigned projects


• Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules and prepare 3 Week Look-Ahead schedules for office personnel


• Assist in developing daily POD’s (Plan of Day) in conjunction with Project Management


• Identify and communicate issues and concerns from the field that would jeopardize the project’s ability to continue as planned


• Prepare T&M tickets, daily production reports, receipts, and other paperwork as required by the job


• Assist with planning the manpower, equipment, and supplies required to execute the job and communicate needs to Management


• Assist in coordinating maintenance, repairs, and additional work with the customer and Group Management

Working Conditions

• Sit, talk, hear, read, and write


• Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms


• Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladder


• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds


• Works indoors and outdoors in all types of weather


• Perform duties on-site at industrial locations to include uneven terrain

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience leading and overseeing civil excavation projects, mid to large scale experience preferred


• Experience with the proper use and application of relevant tools and equipment of the trade


• Advanced ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, project schedules, etc.


• Ability to troubleshoot on-the-job issues effectively and efficiently


• Strong knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities to include project scheduling, reporting, etc.


• Strong knowledge of, and commitment to, safety and construction regulations


• Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
