SES Construction and Fuels, LLC is expanding its workforce and is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing vertical federal construction business line. This role entails scheduling, subcontractor management, communication with the client and building occupants, safety and occupational health management, and assurance of quality and compliance. Responsible for overseeing a variety of construction projects, including design-build and bid-build projects typically ranging from $2M to $15M, with the potential to manage up to $20M of projects simultaneously.

This position is remote, based out of Norfolk, VA, supporting projects at various military installations in the area.

Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

  • Procure subcontractors, coordinate, organize, and supervise construction activities to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Analyze project RFPs and plans, collaborating with executives to define project objectives.
  • Oversee labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors within the allocated time and budget.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, field staff, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage evaluation and acquisition of subcontracts, labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Supervise the project closely to address out-of-scope work requests, unforeseen conditions, and schedule impacts.
  • Work with superintendents, stakeholders, and team members to develop and revise project schedules.
  • Develop and review project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Handle invoicing, review and execute subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Manage projects from proposal to closeout, addressing issues arising from unforeseen conditions.
  • Foster teamwork within the project execution team.
  • Manage subcontractors through project completion.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control and Safety teams.
  • Ensure project activities conform to budget, plans, specifications, and schedule.
  • Forecast project cash flow and track financial performance.
  • Prepare reports for management and clients, interface with clients, and maintain the company's reputation.
  • Manage overall project team activities.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Federal renovation and repair construction.
  • Experience managing Design-Build and Bid-Build projects.
  • Ability to resolve technical construction issues.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Understanding of legal processes.
  • Ability to foster team morale and spirit.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools like P6 Primavera, RMS, and quality control processes.

Additional Requirements: Pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, obtain necessary security clearances, and access to military installations.

Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver at work sites, see, hear, communicate effectively, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds. Use PPE as required.

Working Conditions: Mix of office and outdoor work, exposure to weather, wildlife, fumes, noise, and physical activity.
