Job summary

Sundt Construction in Tucson, AZ is seeking a seasoned Project Manager/Estimator to oversee assigned projects on-site, ensuring safety, profitability and timely delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating bids, establishing WBS, interfacing with owners and subcontractors, managing costs, procurement, and billings, and reviewing contractual requirements.

Candidates should have a BS in Engineering, 7+ years in construction contract documentation and 5-7 years in PM/Estimating, proficient in MS

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • 7+ years in construction contract documentation and 5-7 years in a PM/Estimating role (Sr: 10+ yrs with 7+ yrs PM/Estimating).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the bid/proposal process.
  • Establishes work breakdown structure and performs quantity surveys.
  • Interfaces with owner, architect, engineer, contractors and subcontractors to provide bid assistance, design assistance, value engineering, constructability review, and project schedule analysis.
  • Manages construction documentation (RFI's, ASI's, etc.).
  • Manages project costs to meet or exceed target margins.
  • Manages project procurement.
  • Negotiates, writes and awards contractors and purchase order agreements.
  • Participates in activities to support the company's strategic planning efforts.
  • Performs the pricing of material, labor and equipment, general conditions and direct job expense to complete the estimate.
  • Prepares and manages all billings.
  • Reviews contractual requirements to determine scope of work.

  • 1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)

  • 3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • 4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
  • 5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • 6. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • 7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • 8. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
