We're currently seeking a Project Manager/Estimatorfor our Excavation Department.

Job Summary

Edgewood Properties is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager/Estimator for the Excavation Division, who will manage projects from initial estimate through completion.

This dual-role position requires a keen eye for detail, leadership skills, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.

Candidate will work full-time in our office located in South Plainfield, NJ and travel to sites as required.

Responsibilities

Estimating:

• Review plans, specs, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates for excavation and site-work projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, utilities, grading, and related scopes.
• Develop and submit competitive bids, budgets, and proposals.

Project Management:

• Plan and manage multiple excavation projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate with managers, field superintendent, Land development managers and suppliers.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Track project progress, manage change orders, and maintain proper documentation.
• Work with office personnel to ensure billing is accurate and matches proposals

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in excavation, civil construction, or a related field.
• Proven experience in project management and estimating.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, site safety, and construction practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with GPS and grade control systems.
• Experience with public works or commercial site development projects.
