Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. seeks an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to oversee plumbing and mechanical construction projects from estimating through completion.

You'll develop accurate estimates, coordinate startup, manage day-to-day execution, and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. A minimum of 3 years in estimating/PM within the plumbing/mechanical sector is preferred, with FastPIPE and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of estimating, PM, or cost development in plumbing/mechanical construction.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specs, and construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of local/state plumbing and mechanical codes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project estimates by reviewing plans and requirements.
  • Coordinate startup and budgeting for awarded projects.
  • Manage project execution, scheduling, manpower, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor budgets and provide cost projections for billing and reporting.
  • Attend meetings with customers, contractors, and internal team.

Project Manager / Estimator

Reports To: Vice President

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to oversee plumbing and mechanical construction projects from the estimating phase through project completion. This position is responsible for developing accurate estimates, coordinating project startup, managing day-to-day project execution, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed project estimates by reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing, material availability, and labor costs.
  • Coordinate project startup and establish budgets for awarded projects.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through material procurement and project planning.
  • Manage awarded projects, including scheduling, manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overall project execution.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide cost projections for billing and financial reporting.
  • Attend project meetings with customers, contractors, and internal personnel.
  • Prepare and manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate workforce scheduling and communicate staffing needs.
  • Obtain all required permits and project authorizations.
  • Perform routine job site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure all project closeout documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Promote company policies, quality standards, and professional conduct.
  • Communicate employee performance concerns and provide feedback to leadership as needed.

  • Working knowledge of local and state plumbing and mechanical codes.

Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in estimating, project management, or cost development within the plumbing, mechanical, or underground construction industry.
  • Experience with FastPIPE estimating software or similar estimating platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
