Job summary

Audubon Companies in Houston seeks a Project Manager- EPC to lead the integrated delivery of large gas processing and midstream projects from development through turnover. You will direct a cross-functional team across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, safety, and commercial functions to achieve a coordinated execution strategy.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years delivering major EPC programs with strong leadership, scheduling, and cost-control skills, and are willing to travel

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience delivering large industrial EPC projects.
• Five+ years in project management with integrated engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams across engineering, procurement, quality, HSE and project controls.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of EPC contracts, owner requirements, procurement/expediting, cost control, scheduling, commissioning, and turnover.
• Experience with project controls, forecasting, cost-to-complete reporting, change management, risk management, and executive-level reporting.
• Working knowledge of process facilities and related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assume overall responsibility for the safe, profitable, timely, and high-quality delivery of assigned EPC projects.
• Establish the integrated project execution plan, WBS, responsibility matrix, staffing plan, contracting strategy, procurement plan, cost-control system, and master schedule.
• Lead coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, quality, HSE, project controls, accounting, and commercial functions.
• Provide direction and accountability to Construction Manager/Site Manager and other project leaders for field execution.
• Plan and coordinate staffing, mobilization, supervision, equipment, materials, and support systems for multi-discipline crafts.
• Maintain the owner and engineer relationship as primary contact for status, decisions, risks, and commercial matters.
• Coordinate design development, constructability reviews, engineering deliverables, RFIs, submittals, document control, and procurement/expediting of major equipment.
• Monitor and control master schedule, engineering progress, procurement status, construction progress, commissioning readiness, labor productivity, and forecast completion.
• Establish and maintain cost controls, cash-flow forecasts, cost-to-complete projections, earned value, and management reporting.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage risks, commercial exposures, schedule impacts, constructability issues, and opportunities for improvements.
• Negotiate, issue, and administer change orders, claims, notices, subcontract modifications, and owner proposals.
• Lead project governance meetings, owner meetings, schedule and risk reviews, and executive updates.
• Coordinate commissioning, startup support, turnover, as-built documentation, warranties, and final acceptance.
• Manage closeout, final billing, claims resolution, demobilization, and lessons learned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assume overall responsibility for the safe, profitable, timely, and high-quality delivery of assigned EPC projects.
• Review and validate the proposal, contract, project execution requirements, estimate, commercial assumptions, schedule, design basis, and deliverables with the project leadership team.
• Establish the integrated project execution plan, work breakdown structure, responsibility matrix, staffing plan, contracting strategy, procurement plan, cost-control system, and master schedule.
• Lead coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, quality, HSE, project controls, accounting, and commercial functions.
• Provide direction and accountability to the Construction Manager/Site Manager, Superintendent, and other project leaders responsible for field execution and craft productivity.
• Plan and coordinate the staffing, mobilization, supervision, equipment, materials, and support systems required for a larger multi-discipline craft workforce.
• Maintain the owner and engineer relationship as the primary point of contact for project status, decisions, risks, commercial matters, and executive communication.
• Coordinate design development, constructability reviews, engineering deliverables, RFIs, submittals, document control, and field design Direct procurement and expediting activities for major equipment, long-lead materials, bulk materials, and subcontracted scopes.
• Monitor and control the master schedule, engineering progress, procurement status, construction progress, commissioning readiness, labor productivity, and forecast completion dates.
• Establish and maintain project cost controls, commitments, cash-flow forecasts, cost-to-complete projections, earned-value or progress measurement, and management reporting.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks, commercial exposures, schedule impacts, constructability issues, and opportunities for cost or schedule improvement.
• Negotiate, prepare, issue, and administer change orders, claims, notices, subcontract modifications, and owner proposals.
• Review and approve subcontractor selections, scopes, payment applications, vendor invoices, and commercial recommendations in accordance with Company authority limits.
• Promote and enforce the Company safety culture, HSE plan, quality program, regulatory requirements, and project-specific controls across all project functions and field activities.
• Lead project governance meetings, internal leadership reviews, owner meetings, schedule reviews, risk reviews, and executive project updates.
• Coordinate commissioning, startup support, punch-list execution, turnover packages, as-built documentation, training, warranties, and final acceptance.
• Manage project closeout, final billing, claims resolution, demobilization, lessons learned, and transition to operations or maintenance support.
• Develop project leaders, promote accountability, and participate in continuous improvement of EPC delivery processes changes.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Seven or more years of experience delivering large industrial, midstream, gas processing, compressor station, fractionation, or related EPC projects.
• At least five years of project management experience demonstrated responsibility for integrated engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout activities.
• Experience leading Construction Managers/Site Managers, Superintendents, project controls, engineering, procurement, quality, HSE, and larger multi-discipline craft organizations.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of EPC contracts, owner requirements, engineering deliverables, procurement and expediting, subcontract administration, cost control, scheduling, commissioning, and turnover.
• Experience with project controls, forecasting, cost-to-complete reporting, change management, risk management, and executive-level reporting.
• Working knowledge of process facilities, gas processing systems, compression, piping, structural, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and other integrated project disciplines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management, scheduling, estimating, cost-control, document-control, and collaboration systems.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, organization, negotiation, presentation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage complex priorities, resolve issues across functional groups, and maintain accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work at project sites as required.
